Mmmm. Meatballs

Just tonight’s supper before the rice and sweet & sour sauce. It was tasty.

Cupcake Conspiracy – Corporate Monkey

My dear Angie brought me a treat from the Cupcake Conspiracy the other day. It was a moist, dark chocolate cake with the most perfectly flavoured banana frosting. Angie knows how I feel about bananas and though banana flavoured foods can have a cheap, over-sweet, artificial flavour, these cupcakes most certainly did not.

Though they have some nice artwork inside their business, I think I may see if they would be interested in having me provide more intricate photos, of which these cupcakes are very deserving.

Midnight Snack

Here is the blueberry shortcake I mentioned earlier on Twitter. Angie found the recipe in a Chatelaine magazine and executed it beautifully.

Sorry to make you hungry at this time of the evening… No, I’m not. ;)

Sorry for the wrinkles in my new backdrop. It needs washing and to be hung to get rid of them. Maybe you didn’t even notice for the delicious treat on the plate.

Shrimp & Chicken Alfredo

Saturday for supper we threw together our version of alfredo sauce. No heavy cream and butter here. Just a roux, skim milk, garlic, black pepper, onions, broccoli, mushrooms, chicken and shrimp on seven cheese tortellini.

It was a fine meal.

Scorched Toast

This is my entry for the DIY Photography.net’s Bag ‘O Goodies photo contest.

I am trying to capitalize on the originality portion of the judging. :)

Cookies from Karen

Angie’s friend Karen left some cookies in our mailbox last week. They were very pretty and intricate so I popped mine in the freezer until I could shoot them and then eat them.

Thanks Karen!

The Last Muffin

Thankfully this wasn’t the last of six dozen muffins. I say that because the recipe is from Weight Watchers and they are very high in fibre.

A very tasty, moist and healthy snack without a drop of oil, margarine or other source of fat. I’ll be restricting myself to one a day or less since I’ve heard of the consequences of overindulging in these. Isn’t it ironic that you get something so low in guilt-factor but they have unwanted effects if eaten in excess.

Still, very tasty, filling, treats.

If Angie posts the recipe I’ll update this post with the link to it.

Fresh Bread

Despite my stuffed up nose from my first cold in years, my wife’s first attempt at home made bread smelled wonderful. It used honey to sweeten it and was much sweeter to taste than I expected.

I’ve said before that I always liked the bread our church used to use for communion as it had honey in it. This bread would go nostalgically well with a glass of grape juice or grape jelly.

Morning Delight

As you may have seen a few days ago, my wife was baking cinnamon buns.

Those were quick snaps with little lighting or planning to the photos because, frankly, we were itching to eat one while they were still warm.

Today the coffee was the hot item.

My Wife Can Bake!

Incredible! Easily rivals my Aunt Marilyn’s cinnamon buns.

Angie made these two unbelievable pies for the Family Day supper this past Monday. Both recipes she found on Bakerella.

The first was a Butterscotch Pecan Pie:

The second was a Cream Cheese Pumpkin Pecan Pie:

Notes: One of the lone remaining butter tarts from the batch my wife made this season. They were delicious.

Cwawffee

Just threw a little New York accent into the name of today’s morning beverage of choice.

I have in mind another shot for the next time I make tea. Perhaps Friday.

Brown-ies

Date Shot: May 25, 2009
Notes: No Name brownies. Not quite as good as home made, but way simpler and cheaper. I hope this makes your mouth water.

Banana Bread

Date Shot: February 8, 2009
Notes: It was my intention to go photograph the ice sculptures between our houses and the neighbors that resulted from the water drops from our garage heater exhaust pipes but earlier that day the neighbours knocked them over. So, instead I decided to shoot the banana bread my wife had made just a few minutes before. It was still warm and that was the feel I wanted to photograph to have.
